Archiving & Preservation
The Global Journal of Biosciences and Environment (GJBE) is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content, in line with best practices for scholarly open access publishing.
Preservation Strategy
- LOCKSS. This journal utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, permitting those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. Learn more about LOCKSS.
- CLOCKSS. The journal also utilizes the CLOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries worldwide, ensuring a permanent archive is available in the event the journal is no longer published. Learn more about CLOCKSS.
- Institutional and national repositories. Authors are encouraged to deposit copies of their published articles into their institutional repository and any applicable national or subject repository, consistent with the journal's open access and licensing terms.
- Platform-level backups. The journal's hosting platform (Open Journal Systems, PKP) maintains regular database and file backups as part of standard operational practice, in addition to the distributed archiving networks above.
Continuity Commitment
In the event that GJBE ceases publication, the editorial board is committed to ensuring continued access to previously published content through the archiving networks described above, and to providing clear notice to authors, readers, and indexing services of any change in the journal's operating status.
Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs)
GJBE assigns persistent Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles to ensure stable, long-term citability and discoverability, independent of any future changes to the journal's web address.
