Indexing & Abstracting

The Global Journal of Biosciences and Environment (GJBE) is actively pursuing indexing and abstracting coverage to maximize the discoverability and impact of published research. As a newly launched journal (inaugural issue: Volume 1, Issue 1, 2026), GJBE is in the process of applying to major indexing and abstracting services.

Current and Target Indexing Services

GJBE is preparing applications and/or pursuing indexing in the following categories of databases, subject to each service's eligibility criteria (which typically require a minimum publication history):

  • Google Scholar
  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
  • Crossref (for DOI registration and citation linking)
  • ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources)
  • CrossCheck / Similarity Check
  • Subject-specific bibliographic databases relevant to biosciences, agriculture, and environmental sciences

This list will be updated as applications are submitted and coverage is confirmed. GJBE does not claim indexing status it has not yet been granted, in line with responsible publishing practice.

Metadata Sharing

In support of discoverability, GJBE exposes article metadata via OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), allowing libraries, search engines, and aggregators to harvest and index journal content automatically.

Librarian Information

We encourage research librarians to list this journal among their library's electronic journal holdings. This journal's open source publishing system (Open Journal Systems) is suitable for libraries to host for their faculty members to use with journals they are involved in editing. See the PKP / Open Journal Systems website for details.
